Over $100 Billion in unpaid support is due to over 18 million children in the United States.
As Child Support Enforcement agencies work with State Attorneys to make both male and female deadbeat parents pay what they owe, more deadbeats are added to the rolls daily. Ultimately unpaid child support costs taxpayers money.
Federal and State Legislation can go a long way toward making collecting Child Support quicker and easier, but it takes educating the public as well as parents to make it work.
Community Education on Child Support is even more important now that the Federal Government has reduced the Child Support Enforcement Budget as these cuts will force more custodial parents to utilize resources on their own as the government agencies will no longer be able to help.
